The Dragons, sculptures, etc...

From my earliest age I have been admiring the sculptures in Zagreb. Probably my favourite is St, George and the Dragon by Fernkorn. The statue is placed in the corner of the Marshal Tito's square.

Zagreb: St.George and the Dragon in front of the Kamenita vrata (the entrance into the old Gradec). Statue is by A. Kompatschera and A. Winder. It is interesting that the Dragon looks like an amphibian. This statue was placed there just a few years ago. Before that it was "hidden" in one of the gardens of a palace in Gornji grad (Gradec).

One of the sculptures I always liked seeing is "Peasants" - relief by Ivan Mestrovic. — Zagreb: Trg bana Josipa Jelačića. It is placed in one of the corners of the building, high above the ground.

This is the scene that has nothing to do with the above sculptures, of course. I loved the early morning light seen from my window, so I took a shot.
